MQ Health – Macquarie University Hospital and Clinics - is seeking physiotherapists with acute or surgical hospital experience to join our MQ Health Physiotherapy team in a casual role; to provide high-quality weekend physiotherapy services to patients of Macquarie University Hospital.

MQ Health incorporates Macquarie University Hospital - Australia's first private, not-for-profit teaching hospital and health service located on a University campus - and Macquarie University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, including Macquarie University’s Doctor of Physiotherapy Program. MQ Health seeks to engage clinicians in the tripartite scholarship of academic clinical practice, teaching and learning, and clinical research.

The Role

MQ Health is seeking registered physiotherapists to join the MQ Health Physiotherapy clinical team in providing high-quality weekend physiotherapy services to patients of Macquarie University Hospital. The successful candidate(s) will have experience delivering physiotherapy services in the acute inpatient hospital setting, including in the areas of orthopaedics, neurology/neurosurgery, general surgery and medicine, cardiorespiratory and/or intensive care physiotherapy. Candidates must be AHPRA-registered, and have the right to work in Australia without sponsorship.

Recently graduated physiotherapists, those completing/having recently completed allocation, and those undertaking ongoing postgraduate studies e.g. are encouraged to apply. Positions will be offered on a casual basis.

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate the below requirements in your CV and a 1-page cover letter:

  • Tertiary qualification in physiotherapy and general registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia/AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of physiotherapy services to in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated sound verbal and written communication skills with an ability to build rapport and empathise with patients.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, patient-centred and evidence-based care.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workloads within established routines, methods and procedures.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high quality patient care.
  • Capacity for creativity and innovation in service development, delivery and improvement.
  • Commitment to uphold and be a steward of the Mission, Vision and Values of MQ Health.

Note: This position requires a Working with Children Check Clearances for NSW and criminal record check. Qualification checks may also be required. This position requires you to comply with screening, assessment and vaccinations.

Salary Package: To be negotiated with the successful candidate.
